The
Paladins of Kib (Dragonknights)
Citadel of the Forest
Motto: We do not look away
The Dragonknights are one of the oldest orders of paladins in the kingdom of Thand. The Dragonknights were founded contemporaneously with the paladins of Manadi, known as the Dawnbringers. The foundation of all the paladin orders dates from a time before the Silence (when the Gods did not answer prayers directly).
The paladins of Kib devote themselves to preserving the good things in life. This means killing evil monsters that threaten the good humanoid races of Thand, killing evil humanoids that threaten good natural creatures and above all fighting demons and undead who invade Paegana. Their more civilized enemies include; worshippers of Mung, Moil and Sish; warlocks, sorcerers and necromancers that follow the dark arts; evil pirates.
There are five Citadels run by the Paladins of Kib:
The Citadel of the Forest
Lies in the far northeastern tip of the southlands, about 100 miles from the Kingdom of Thand
Founded in 614 (26 years ago) by Sir Leonel Kingsrood
The Citadel of the Western Wastes
Inside the border of Thand at the edge of the Dunes
The oldest of the citadels, founded in 280 by Lord Graeme Diulid
The Argent Tower of the Sapphire Sanctuary
One of the many fortresses found at the Sanctuary
Founded year 400 by Queen Relia after the the Dragonknights defeated the demi-lich Juugraa’t and his forces at great cost.
The Jungle Watchward
Lies at the very southern tip of the Kingdom of Thand
Founded year 388 after the first fiendish lizardman invasion
The Lionsward Reach
Situated ½ days ride into the Lionsward forest
Founded secretly in 545 as a refuge against the persecutions carried out by the warlock-king Agnessios
You were adopted by Sir Thaddius Waelgar after a raid into the edge of the Great Forest resulted in the near-total destruction of your tribe. Sir Thaddius is a younger son of the inland Waelgars; joining one of the orders was expected of him since birth. Being from a powerful noble family, Sir Thaddius is a bit more concerned with the day-to-day goings on in the kingdom than most of the Paladins in the Citadel.
